Kames Capital has hired Robin Black to take a position as an investment manager in the company’s equities team in Edinburgh.
After taking this new position, Black will be responsible for international equity manadate team support, with a special focus on Japan and will be subjected to Stephen Adams, who is a head of equities.
Formerly he worked in the Macquarie group, being responsible for financial services and investment banking. He was a managing director there, embracing global sales of Pan Asian equities in the company’s branch in Hong Kong.
While he spent 21 years in the financial services industry, Black performed a few other roles, connected with Japanese and Asian equities in particular, including Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup.
As Stephen Adams commented, the appointment of Robin will make equties team stronger and will add it a deeper aspect, as Kames Capital intends to develop its capabilities further in continental Europe and United Kingdom.
The large experience in Japanese equities that Robin possesses will help us build up and reinforce our competency in the region.
